Every Individual, aged 14 and over, who have been assessed as having moderate, severe or profound learning disabilities, or people with a mild learning disability who have other complex health needs, are entitled to a free annual health check.

Health Passport
A Health Passport is a booklet that a person with a learning disability can take with them when attending health appointments, including hospital stays. It contains important information on how to communicate and support the individual. People who don’t know an individual well, such as a doctor or nurse, can read the Health Passport and make a connection with that individual.

Pre Hospital App
The welsh ambulance service have developed a Pre-Hospital Communication app which uses pictures and words to communicate with people who have a range of different needs, specifically for those: Whose illness or injury affects their communication, is deaf or hard of hearing, for which English is not their first language or those with learning disabilities, ASD friendly.”
There’s a pain scale indicator, treatment explanations etc. It also has a section on assault in ‘what’s wrong’, which may be useful for s/u debriefs following incidents of CB maybe.
